Join the TGV Christmas Trail
November 24, 2020
After the success of the recent scarecrow trail, members of the Tadpole Neighbourhood Watch group are organising a Christmas Trail, which will open on Saturday 12th December.
Organisers Amy, Bron & Damien wanted to arrange something else to bring some joy to the TGV community during these challenging times.
They have decided to hold a Christmas trail for children who can visit houses around the Village that will be decorated and children will have a chance to win prizes, with the initiative also raising funds for two local charities.
Parents are invited to purchase an activity pack (available via the below link) for £3 which includes reindeer food, a Christmas colouring picture, a spot the difference, a wordsearch, candy cane, a map to the trail with an answer sheet and a personalised letter from Santa.
Each house will have a letter displayed which participants will have to use to work out a secret message. There is the chance to win some prizes too!
– £75 for the best decorated house
– £50 for the second best decorated house
– £25 for the third best decorated house.
And over £100 in other prizes for colouring competitions, completing the wordsearch and spot the difference and of course completing the secret message!
All profits made from selling the packs will be donated to two special causes.
The first is Swindon Food Bank, which due to the difficult year we have all been through need all the support they can get. We are hoping to do a huge supermarket shop to help them provide Christmas hampers for 150 families.
The second is for Cricklade Preschool Playgroups to help build a future project. The current building the preschool is using is over 50 years old and was originally a library. A new purpose built building is needed to provide the best facilities for the children. This is hopeful to be completed next summer over the holidays. At the moment they require £25,000 more to pay for this.
