TGV Christmas Hamper Appeal
November 30, 2020
For the last four years, a group of Tadpole Garden Village residents have been creating Christmas hampers for underprivileged families.
Spearheaded by Kyrie Davis, the group are aiming to make 40 hampers this year and are appealing for donations.
Kyrie said: “The original idea came about as our neighbour is the Principal of Swindon Academy and has a number of children there that often don’t have food on the table. This year more than any, we think that help is needed to support them.
“We are able to take either cash donations via Paypal or if people prefer, they can donate items for our hamper. These can include any non-perishable items that are in date. We try to create a mix of practical and fun items for our hampers and include things like: cereals, chocolates, tinned goods, pastas and items that could help make a wonderful Christmas dinner such stuffing, gravy and cranberry sauce.”
Their appeal in 2019 yielded enough donations to make 20 hampers to the value of around £20 each – a wonderful gift to those in the community at Christmas time. This year the group are aiming to double that amount with 40 hampers the target.
