TGV Pond Works: Rat Baiting

November 13, 2020

Earlier in the summer there Preim, on behalf of the Tadpole Garden Village Community Interest Company (TGVCIC), undertook maintenance to the development Sustainable Urban Drainage System (SUDS) on the Western part of the Eastern Common.

As per the update issued on the TGV community website it was apparent that rats were an issue in that part of the development. A link to the original article can be found here.

Since the summer there has been regular visits from a pest control operative monitoring the situation, and whilst the issue has decreased from residents not feeding the animals, the rats are still quote prominent in the area.

As we are now heading towards winter the rats will start seeking warmer areas to inhabit and Preim are therefore instructing a pest control operative to bait the areas surrounding the SUDS on the Western Common. The bait traps will be placed in locations that will not harm children or pets and these traps will hopefully diminish the number of rat’s present. The contractors have provided necessary RAMS (Risk And Method Statements) to ensure any works are completed to the correct safety standards.

If further preventative measures are required, then Preim will notify the residents. This update is just to keep you all informed of the works being undertaken in the coming weeks.
