Water Basin Improvements

June 23, 2020

Dear Residents,

As part of the TGVCIC maintenance schedule the Water Basin located next to the bus stop on the Western part of the Eastern Common, marked plan here, will be having sections of reeds and vegetation removed. It will only be the water basin marked on the plan as this is currently the only basin that has been handed over to the TGVCIC. This is as part of the approved landscaping management plan. There will be a team of three to four people in the water basins removing the reeds and vegetation by hand, and these works will be on-going for a few days. The contractors are a specialist water management firm located in Faringdon and all of their team are fully trained and have the correct qualifications.

Following completion of the works the reeds and vegetation will be left on the side of the water basin for between 48 – 72 hours. This is to allow any wildlife to leave the reeds/vegetation and return to the water. The piles will be fenced off but please can all residents ensure that they leave the piles of vegetation alone. The TGVCIC landscapers will then remove them.

The works are scheduled to start on Monday 29th June 2020. As per the above these should last a couple of days. Should any residents have any questions please do not hesitate to contact the Preim Ltd helpdesk.

With thanks
