William Morris Way Road Works
July 12, 2018
CREST Nicholson Strategic Projects are due to carry out road finishing works on the 17th, 18th and 19th July 2018. The road finishing works will see a further section of William Morris Way re-surfaced to provide the finished Tarmac running surface of the road and footpaths. Plan A which is attached shows the extent of the area marked in blue.
On Tuesday 17th and Wednesday 18th July these works will require partial road closures. During this time, the area will still be accessible for the specific residents which are situated in the area of works. However, on the Thursday 19th July please expect there to be a full road closure along this section of William Morris Way for final road finishing from 9am – 5pm. There will be no vehicular access directly to the properties along this section of William Morris Way on Thursday 19th July between 9am – 5pm.
Prior to the works starting on the 19th, Crest Nicholson Strategic Projects’ appointed contractor (Terry Basely, Breheny Civil Engineering) will visit the affected residents on William Morris Way to answer any queries and if required, will advise where to relocate your vehicles into an appropriate place which will not be affected by the resurfacing works.
The works are planned to be carried out between the hours of 9am – 5pm. During these working hours, traffic marshalls will be sited at all lane closures.
Traffic signage and barriers will be clearly positioned during the works to ensure that a safe working zone is provided for the contractors along with a diversion route for residents and the Stagecoach bus service. The bus service will not be directed to stop at any other areas of the site and all three of the permanent bus stops will remain in use. The diversion will see the bus run from Bus Stop A and divert through John Ruskin Road and then turn right onto Toynbee Avenue before making its way up to Greene Street and Bus Stop B. Plan A which can be accessed here shows the diversion and bus route which will be in place for the duration marked in orange.
We apologise for any inconvenience caused to you, the residents, during the course of these works but we hope that you will benefit from the finished road surface, including removal of the temporary speed bumps which have been in place for some time.
Crest Nicholson Strategic Projects will be working closely with the appointed contractor to keep you informed and minimise any disruption these works may cause. Once again, we thank you for your co-operation at this time.
